Submission Policy
Letters / Submission Policy
We love letters from our readers! We encourage you to write in and share your thought and opinions on any topic of your choice. This is YOUR newspaper and the Editorial/Submission page is YOUR page! We honestly feel that the paper is better
when your comments are included. However, in order to protect both our company and our
community, we’ve developed this Submission Policy so our readers will be aware of what
will and will not be considered for publication. If you have any questions about this – feel free to call the newsroom at 588-1111 (Hurley) or 826-1011 (Vancleave).
LETTERS MUST BE SIGNED
With the exception of short “Sound Off” type comments, all submissions must
include your name, phone number and address. (Only your name will be published with your Comments. Phone number and address are for verification purposes only). We will not accept anonymous letters (with rare exceptions left to the discretion of the editor).
NO PERSONAL ATTACKS
Please do not use The Link to take a shot at an individual or a private business. If
you have a personal beef to settle – settle it directly. If you have something to say about
a government entity or official, comments should be directly related to the nature of their position and civic responsibilities.
EDITORIALS MAY BE EDITED
Though we will make every effort to print your submission as is, comments may be
edited for space, content, accuracy and grammar. We will always attempt to contact
you via phone and/or e-mail before major changes are made.
* We reserve the right to refuse any editorial and/or advertisement.
